Post 8 - Color Research

Color is just as important when researching a  logo. With green tea, a given would be that green would be the automatic color to go to. I want to deviate from that.

"Color Wheel"
From taking to my teacher, maybe keeping the green, but making it a lighter yellow green could work. Pairing it with a reddish violet could also be good, since that's yellow green's complement.

It'll be something to look into in the future.

Post 7 - Audience Research

With creating a logo, keeping in mind who your audience is is important. With that in mind, I've decided who my audience is. My audience is:

  • High Class
  • Health Oriented
"Health"
Just keeping those thoughts will help in designing my overall logo.

Post 6 - Animated Logo Research

Since we were introduced to Flash, I decided to research what kind of animations could be done with a logo. I've included my favorite examples below:

"Game Time Logo"
"Isprs Logo"
"JHMA Logo"
The point of this post isn't to view the logos, but the animations of the logos.

Here, you can see that Flash can be used to do things such as simple movement and color change. That's the point of using flash for this. The logo shouldn't be complicated, and neither should the animation. It should be simple so the viewer doesn't get distracted.

Post 5 - Leaf Study

I'm kicking myself at this point.

While I did want to deviate away from the whole leaf idea, I've found that that's what seems to really work.

However, I've decided to keep it simplified in order to not become too blatant. A cartoon leaf should be effective in what I'm doing. I've gathered some leaf designs to get some inspiration:

"Cartoon Leaf 1"
"Cartoon Leaf 2"
"Cartoon Leaf 3-8"
I really like the simple leaves in Leaf 4 ( The top middle). They're as simple as they can get, but convey the idea of a leaf. The simplicity implies it, but doesn't just state it out loud.

I'll probably incorporate this idea into my design.

Post 4 - Logo Inspiration

My first batch of ideas that I've come up with mostly involve Bonsai trees. During my research, I found a good amount of styles that I liked. I've included them below:
"Karate Kid Gi"
"Red Maple Bonsai"
"Bonsai Tree 1"
"Bonsai Tree 2"
"Bonsai Tree 3"

The overall shape of the Karate Kid Gi is something I want to take some design sensibilities from. To make the design different though, I wanted to go with a different bonsai design.

Of the ones I found, Bonsai Trees 1 and 3 have an overarching style that seems to be more visually interesting. I also like the color of the Red Maple Bonsai, so that color scheme could be combined with the other trees when it comes time to color.

Post 3 - Green Tea Logo Study

During my searches of the internet, I found very few brand name green teas. However, I have found that there does seem to be a pattern:

"Lipton Green Tea"

"Tava Tea"
From what I've found, a majority of them use green as a color, as well as leaves being incorporated into the overall design.

I find the actual lack of creativity and originality quite sad actually. This just means I'll have to work a little harder when it comes to my overall design.

I can find some nice things here, however. I do like the letter shape in the Tava Green Tea, and Lipton's logo, while generally unchanged, does go with the green, since red is green's compliment.
