I found that my final designs stayed with the overall circle and leaves design sensibilities. Surprisingly enough, I was advised to make one final design, which is actually the one I'm taking into Illustrator:

I found that "26" was what my teacher was looking for. It took the ideas and concepts from my other ideas that worked and combined them into something good. Only time will tell if this will work out.
